King of the Dead (Opening Scene)

I did the art direction consisting of prop construction, set design, set painting, fire effects, and more for the King of the Dead, a film being put out there by Massive Ego Productions, who also released the horror/comedy The Landlord (2009). KOTD follows a group of night shift workers at a museum as they battle an evil Egyptian sorcerer who the staff archaeologist raises from the dead. From this fairly standard scenario, the plot goes off in all sorts of offbeat directions, becoming a blackly humorous exploration of magic, sex and death. A lot of people worked, and continue working, extremely hard on making this new film a reality. Thank you to my direct crew of Ken Mitchell and Anne Fosnacht for your enthusiasm and much needed help, and to Emil Hyde and Dan Kiggins for the opportunity to work with them and the great crew of theirs.
